Beauty, a DangerBeauty, a DangerBeauty, a Danger
I can remember two times someone told me I was beautiful.
The first time, my mother: "You need to be careful because you're a beautiful girl and there are scary people out there."
The second time, Steve, my neighbor who walks his cat on a leash, drinks beer at ten in the morning, and is one of the Scary People Out There: "You're a very beautiful woman," probably looking down my tank top as I pet his cat.
I run home, lock the door close the curtains turn off the lights fall asleep on the couch

After all the years of running
I am free now I have let it out
If only you were still in my life
Then maybe you would be proud
